The name of great French couturier, Christian Dior is associated with high fashion, Dior perfume advertising, with alluring beauty of woman. These associations are not accidental, Christian Dior is eternal legend of fashion, due to him France was and is the source of inspiration, innovations and the world capital of fashion. It was written about him that “Dior saved France as well as, Paris was saved during battle of the Marne”. Eternal legend Christian Dior started to create the dresses that underlined subtly the beauty of women.

• The House of Dior started to create the luxuriant collection Pret-a-porter in 1948 in November, following this legendary designer started up the perfume line. Novatory collections of Christian Dior: Vertical, Oblique, Oval, Longue were created in 1950-1951.
• Eternal legend Christian Dior was the first designer, who licensed his sketches. London office of Christian Dior brand was opened at first, later on the representative offices opened in Mexico, Caracas, Australia, Chile and Cuba.
• French couturier Christian Dior continued to create his empire without stopping. Dior Delman department on the production of shoes came into service in 1953, one year later House of Dior brand received a license for the tailoring of lingerie and the bijouterie line Bijoux appeared in 1955.
• Legendary designer, Christian Dior created his last bright collections during last years of his life – Arrow, Aimant, Libre.
• Yves Saint Laurent was an assistant of legendary designer, Christian Dior in 1953, and after his death he became the creative director of House of Dior. He created his first collection “trapezium” in 1958, which was very successful.
His next and the last collection “Beatnik” in the House of Dior was presented in 1960, investors decided to replace the designer, due to avant-garde style of his collections, which sharply differed from the concept of Dior brand.
• After Yves Saint Laurent, creative directors of the House of Dior were talented designers Mark Boan, Gianfranco Ferre, John Galliano, Hedi Slimane, Raf Simons and other young designers.
Abovementioned prominent designers created successful collections with their own vision of fashion when they headed the House of Dior. The talent of each one left its sign in the fashion world. But after several years of management most of them made a decision to create their own brand.
• Since 2016 Maria Grazia Chiuri is the creative director of the House of Dior.
• It is worthy to mention that the main store of recollections about the House of Dior is the museum, which located in paternal house of Christian Dior in the estate of Granville, where was the exhibition of great couturier and all its legendary creations in honor of 70th Anniversary of the House of Dior. At the exhibition “Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams”, more than 300 Dior fashion chef-d’oeuvre’s created from 1947 to the present day were shown in Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
