Today I would like to share the success story of Pat McGrath, the most talented makeup artist whose works inspire many of her colleagues, trendsetters, fashionistas and beauty bloggers.
The life story of Pat McGrath is so full of vivid events and momentous acquaintances with famous people that her enormous success was a natural concurrence of circumstances.

Queen of Great Britain Elizabeth II awarded to Pat Order of British Empire for her services in fashion and beauty industry. Pat received international CFDA Award, it’s something like Oscar in the fashion industry. Anna Wintour, editor of VOGUE magazine, the queen of American fashion, proclaimed Pat the most influential makeup artist in the world.


In addition to total recognition of Pat’s talent, she is creative director of Procter and Gamble, she also developed cosmetics for D&G Beauty, Gucci and Giorgio Armani Beauty. Pat set a new trend for the green lipstick that she created for D&G.

It all started from early childhood, when she with her mother were watching interesting films, and after, it turned into games for the personification of characters from movies, trying different make-ups, young Pat McGrath began to mix tone foundations and she is still experimenting with different shades of foundations up to date.

Pat finished an art course at Northampton College, without specialized education, she began working with Edward Enninful, fashion-director of British fashion magazine “i-D”. An innovative approach to her work, namely the usage of brilliant colors in make-up in the 1990s, contributed to the development of fashion magazine i-D on international level.
Pat began working with the most famous fashion photographers in the world, such as Peter Lindberg, Helmut Newton, Stephen Meisel, Stephen Klein, Phil Poynter, Patrick Demarchelier, Jürgen Teller. They started to publish Pat’s works in various fashion magazines.

Furthermore, Pat collaborated with outstanding designers like Jill Sander and John Galliano. By surprising everyone with her talent and ingenuity, Pat was more often invited to fashion shows. Pat became famous for her ability to realize her fantasies in make-up. Her incomparable handwriting is skillful usage of different colors, feathers, rhinestones, pearls, petals and vinyl linings and other decorations. Despite the fact that Pat carries with her several dozens of bags with instruments, she mainly applies cosmetics with her fingers. It was Pat who gave us the effect of makeup without makeup due to her ability to mix different foundations.

Her handwriting, namely impeccable taste and boldness in the usage of new methods and colors in makeup, allowed her to develop her talent and achieve a high level of professionalism. Soon, Pat began working with well-known brands such as Comme des Garçons, Prada, Dolce and Gabbana, Miu Miu.

In 2017, Edward Enninful was appointed editor of British Vogue magazine and he came with his team and appointed Pat freelance editor of Beauty department.
At the moment, Pat successfully develops her line of cosmetics Pat McGrath Labs. The main range of line of cosmetics includes textures, lipsticks, eyeliners and lips and palette of eyeshadows.

Pat also released her first collection of branded clothing, consisting of sweatshirts, T-shirts, and sweatshirts.

Among all her qualities and talents, I would give prominence to her ability to be herself, regardless of the circumstances and surrounding people, persistency in the development of her talent and courage to realize her ideas.
